Fräulein Frauke - The Saucy Songbird

Fräulein Frauke emerged from a colourful collision of the Victorian Circus, the classic MGM musicals and the dream of Broadway. Brought up in a bohemian family in the deepest forest of Sweden with a jazz playing pianist father, the Muppet Show on TV, musicals and black and white classics on film and french erotica as literature, it is no wonder that within her own fantasy little "worlds" grew and ideas and creativity took form...

Now, not so many years later, Fräulein Frauke is one of the most influential stars in the Swedish burlesque scene. Her ability to combine jazz and cabaret singing with her unusual take on classic burlesque has taken her far and wide, from all corners of Sweden to Finland, Berlin, Copenhagen and London.

With Stockholm as her base, her own burlesque club: Fräulein Frauke Presents, has grown to be the biggest burlesque and cabaret club in town. Here local talent: burlesque, cabaret, art and musicians are sharing the stage with some of the greatest international stars around such as Vicky Butterfly, Dusty Limits and Tara MiSioux amongst others.

Her numbers are iconic and memorable: from the cheeky Snow White and Human Cupcake numbers, to more classical extravagant acts such as her operatic Bird Cather, the smouldering All That Jazz or the sexy siren Lorelie. She always give her audience a `wink and a smile`, a recollection of lost and forgotten worlds and a beautiful spectacle.

Together with her husband, the renowned English artist and photographer John Paul Bichard they run the company Bichard Studios which acts as a creative container for their artistic and photographic endeavours. Curiosity, the will to explore and the pursuit of crazy adventures, describes the couples professional and personal encounters making for a very exciting life.

The duo have exhibited and worked internationally and appear in many publications. Together they explore identity, beauty and sexuality through performance, video and the still image. They also co-run Fräulein Frauke Presents as well as the Victorian Kink Pop-up Gallery.

Fräulein Frauke continues to wow audiences with her passion, sensuality and ever expanding catalogue of entrancing numbers.
